Over the years, new technologies for storing electricity were emerging, which have led to a variety of storage systems today, all differing in the application, costs, and profitability. It is forecasted by International Energy Agency (IEA) that global installed storage capacity will expand by 56% in the upcoming years .
As China accelerates the deployment of renewable energy, the stability of the power system faces persistent operational constraints. Energy storage, serving as a pivotal enabling technology for the energy transition, has witnessed rapid development nationwide.
Various application domains are considered. Energy storage is one of the hot points of research in electrical power engineering as it is essential in power systems. It can improve power system stability, shorten energy generation environmental influence, enhance system efficiency, and also raise renewable energy source penetrations.
For a comprehensive technoeconomic analysis, should include system capital investment, operational cost, maintenance cost, and degradation loss.
