Undoubtedly, energy storage stations (ESS) are vital for the electricity sector of NII to move to penetrations of renewables over 50 %. In, the hybridization of wind generation with the introduction of pumped hydro storage systems is investigated. The findings indicate that these integrated storage and RES facilities have the potential to facilitate increased renewable penetration levels in islands without compromising system stability.
