Belgian super energy storage battery
Engie and Sungrow have commissioned the first 400 MWh phase of mainland Europe's largest battery energy storage system in Vilvoorde, Belgium, with full capacity due by end-2025. Remarkably, ENGIE finished the project in about 16 months, two months ahead. . Project owners BSTOR and Energy Solutions Group have started building separate BESS projects totalling 440MWh of capacity in Belgium, following financial close, both of which will use Tesla Megapacks.
